Drug task force arrests 11 for meth, heroin in Grant County

MARION, Ind. (WTHR) - Police have arrested 11 people in connection with methamphetamine and heroin sales in Grant County this week.

On the afternoon of June 11, police stopped a car driven by 27-year-old Chad Elkins and found he and passenger Cordeddria Wingate, 23, were in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine. Police also found a large amount of heroin and marijuana at Elkins' residence in Marion.

Both were arrested on charges including possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to deliver. Police say Elkins is also suspected of trafficking illegal narcotics into Grant County.

Two days later, early in the morning of June 13, police from several agencies conducted an investigation at a home on Race Street in Marion and arrested six people on charges ranging from possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver to possession of a syringe.

Those arrested include:

  • Orval Hueston, 40
  • Terry Russell Jr., 34
  • Chelsea Eccles, 33
  • Bobbi Bilby, 22
  • Zachary Lawson, 25
  • Caleb Rigney, 20

Two more people were arrested after a search warrant was conducted on the home. Zackary Nealis, 28, and 35-year-old Sarah LeBlanc were arrested on charges including dealing in methamphetamine to neglect of a dependent.

Details about the 11th reported arrest were not included in a release from the JEAN Team Drug Task Force.

About a half-pound of methamphetamine along with heroin were seized by the task force during the operations, with a street value of nearly $20,000.

The investigation is ongoing.
