INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — 53 years and still going strong!

The Grinch, who lives atop Mt. Crumpit, despises Christmas and decides to prevent Christmas from coming to Whoville with the help of his dog, Max.

The 26-minute special introduced the popular Christmas song, "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch."

NBC stations will air "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. and again on Christmas at 8 p.m., followed by the 2000 live-action version starring Jim Carrey.
