INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Sen. Joe Donnelly, D-Indiana, is calling on President-elect Donald Trump to work with him to change laws to encourage companies to grow in Indiana.

The plea comes after news surfaced Tuesday night that Carrier has reached a deal with Trump and Vice president-elect Mike Pence to keep close to 1,000 jobs in Indianapolis.

"While this is good news, in Indiana alone, there are at least two other companies currently planning to move Hoosier jobs out of the country," Donnelly said in a statement. "We need to change our laws to encourage companies to grow here at home."

One of the companies is Rexnord Bearings on Indianapolis' west side.

The company is planning to move nearly 300 jobs to Mexico in the spring.

The other plant is CTS Corporation in Elkhart.

The company announced plans in June to phase out production at its Elkhart plant by mid-2018 and move up to 230 Hoosier jobs to foreign countries.
