INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Indianapolis Metro Police Department is investigating after one person has died in a double shooting on the southeast side.

It happened just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday night on Straw Hat Drive near Emerson Avenue and Shelbyville Road.

IMPD says a male, who was later identified as 34-year-old Brian Cobb, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another male victim was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

Police believe this shooting was a domestic situation. Police say an ex-husband and his friend forced their way into the home and were shot in the incident.

Police are unsure of who shot at whom but say evidence shows that the shooting occurred inside the home.

People who were inside the residence — including two children — were not injured.

Police have not released the identity of the man killed or the other victim.
