INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Dollar General has issued a voluntary recall for a brand of cookies it sells.

The retail chain has recalled 12 ounce packages of Clover Valley Iced Oatmeal Cookies due to undeclared milk and tree nuts, according to the FDA.

The release says the manufacturer confirms there was a labeling mistake. Even though the label says the package contains oatmeal cookies, the contents are actually coconut macaroons.

Macaroons contain nuts so those with allergies could be at risk.

The lots number for the particular brand are lot # L46217 30 with a best-by date of August 18, 2018.

The iced oatmeal cookies were sold in Dollar Generals across 44 states, including Indiana.

Anyone who purchased these items should either return or discard them.
