LONDON (WTHR) - Tennis ball teens have been replaced by canine counterparts at the opening of the Champions Tennis Tournament.

On Thursday, canines worked alongside ball boys and girls to help retrieve stray balls in a doubles match between Mansour Bahrami, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Henri Leconte and Mikael Pernfors.

The dogs were trained by Canine Partners, a charity that trains dogs to help people with disabilities who drop medicine and other items.

"Ball dogs" are not new in tennis, with some having already appeared on court in Brazil.
