Dog leaves bite marks all over northern Indiana girl's body

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (WTHR) — Authorities say that a 12-year-old has bite wounds all over her body after a Bull Mastiff attacked her.

Officer Scott Combs arrived on the scene to see a 140-pound dog attacking the little girl.

Although the girl was able to break free, the mastiff followed her and continued to attack, according to the news release.

Officer Combs pinned the dog down and then trapped it in an adjoining room. Combs is a certified EMT and was able to tend to the girl's wounds.

Authorities say he likely saved the 12-year-olds life.

The girl was flown to Riley Children's Hospital.

There is an ongoing investigation involving the dog owner.
