PERU, Ind. (WTHR) – We're learning what happened right before a teenager was shot and killed this week, allegedly by a varsity volleyball player from Logansport.

According to court documents, Brayden Berkshire and Nathan Hopper, both 18, were playing with a gun when Berkshire put the weapon to Hopper's head.

Berkshire says he told her to pull the trigger, saying "nothing would happen."

She didn't think the weapon was loaded, so she pulled the trigger, was killing Hopper.

Berkshire told police she then put the gun in his hand to make it look like he shot himself.

She's been charged with reckless homicide.
