Dick's destroys $5 million worth of guns

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Dick’s Sporting Goods has destroyed more than $5 million worth of assault weapons.

That's according to a recent interview done with CEO Ed Stack who said the guns were turned into scrap metal.

Dick's made the decision last year to stop carrying assault weapons after the Parkland, Florida shooting.

Other changes made by Dick's included raising the gun purchasing age to 21 and high-capacity magazines.

Stack also said in the interview with CBS News Sunday, the change in gun sales cost the company $250 million in sales.
