LOS ANGELES (WTHR) — A pair of talk show icons will sit down together next week on "The Ellen Show."

David Letterman will make his first in-studio daytime TV appearance since he retired from hosting "Late Show with David Letterman" when he visits with Ellen DeGeneres. The interview is scheduled to air Thursday, March 21.

Letterman retired from the late-night talk show circuit in 2015. He has recently hosted his own interview series on Netflix titled "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman," including chats with former President Barack Obama, George Clooney, Tina Fey and Howard Stern.

Season 2 is expected to premiere later this year.

"The Ellen Show" airs weekdays at 3 p.m. on Channel 13.
