INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Emergency crews pulled a homeless woman from the bottom of a silo on the northeast side of Indianapolis Saturday.

Workers were preparing to replace the 30-foot silo at 7035 East 86th Street when they found the 28-year-old woman inside.

It took them about 15 minutes to get her out.

She told rescuers she was looking for shelter and climbed up the outside ladder, then fell down inside the silo and had been there for a week.

After assessing her condition, medics said she was alert, oriented and had no visible injuries.

She's now recovering at Eskenazi Hospital.
