Cousin of Katie Collman charged

Eyewitness News

Sullivan - Prosecutors have charged a prison inmate, and the cousin of murder victim Katie Collman, with battery after they say he tattooed the forehead of Collman's killer.

The tattoo, which reads "Katie's revenge",  is on Anthony Stockelman's forehead, the man convicted of murdering and molesting the Crothersville 10-year-old.

Authorities at the Wabash Valley Correctional facility say 22-year-old Jared Harris, Collman's cousin, tattooed Stockelman in September with a make-shift tattoo gun while they were in the same prison wing.

Harris told prison officials he attacked Stockelman to get revenge. Harris was given seven more years of prison time for violating prison rules.

He could face an additional year if found guilty of battery.

A medical provider has agreed to remove Stockelman's tattoo at no cost to taxpayers.
