INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - If your stolen car is recovered in Marion County, you have to pay roughly $350 in towing and impound fees to get it back.

That could soon change.

On Wednesday, a council committee passed a proposal that would waive those fees.

The owner would have 5 days after being notified to get their car.

Supporters say the ordinance would keep victims from being victimized again. It will now go to the full council.
