PENDLETON, Ind. (WTHR) - A company that gives men a chance to rebuild their lives was hired to rebuild a local high school's cafeteria.

Eyewitness News featured Purposeful Design a couple years ago, a local wood shop that is giving men in need of a second chance a sense of purpose.

This summer, Pendleton Heights High School hired the company to renovate their cafeteria. Purposeful Design completed 94 custom-made tables and seven cashier stands for the school, inspiring Principal Mark Hall.

"Purposeful Design hires people who may be down on their luck, may be at rock bottom in their life, and it gives them a second opportunity to provide a quality service to their community," Hall said. "It kind of goes along with our philosophy of community service and being a quality citizen and giving people second chances."

The furniture order was the largest so far for Purposeful Design.

The school says it wanted to show its support for a local vendor that's so committed to creating jobs for men who want to rebuild their lives.
