Company recalls hummus due to potential listeria contamination

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Pita Pal Foods, LP has recalled hummus products due to concerns over a listeria contamination found in the manufacturing facility.

The products were sold nationwide and the United Arab Emirates between May 30 and June 25 of this year.

Listeria can cause serious infections that can become fatal. It's especially dangerous for people with weakened immune systems like children and the elderly.

So far, no illnesses have been reported as a result of eating any of the products.
