Columbus police look for driver who left scene where woman was struck and killed

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WTHR) — Columbus Police are looking for the driver of an abandoned SUV that was found near a deadly hit-and-run crash involving a bicyclist late Sunday evening.

Around 11:15 p.m. officers found 21-year-old Columbus resident Kyla Merri Ortlieb at 11th and Chestnut streets after 911 calls reported the crash.

Ortlieb was pronounced dead at the scene by a deputy coroner.

Officers located a GMC Jimmy that was heavily damaged approximately a block away on Union Street.
