INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - About 200 foster children in Indianapolis will enjoy gifts this Christmas provided by the Colts Women's Organization.

The team delivered a truck full of toys, clothing and books to the Marion County Department of Child Services.

The wives of coaches and players and other women in the Colts organization partnered with Hands of Hope to purchase gifts on the wish lists of local foster families.

This project hits close to home for Kristin Ballard, the wife of Colts general manager Chris Ballard.

"I went through the whole process of being a foster parent and being in the system," Kristin said. "It gives our family the sense of giving back and the Colts family the sense of giving back. We're so blessed in so many ways."

The Ballard family adopted two children through the foster system.

There are currently more than 10,000 children in foster care in Marion County.
