COLTS BLOG: Colts come up short in Tampa Bay 38-35

TAMPA (WTHR) - The Colts came up short in Tampa Bay 38-35.

11:36 a.m. - The Colts and the Bucs have both put out their inactive reports.



11:54 a.m. - Chase McLaughlin is the kicker today in place of Adam Vinatieri.

12:26 p.m.

12:40 p.m. - The weather at kickoff: Mostly sunny and 77 with a light breeze!

12:54 p.m. - Tampa Bay has won last 3 out of 4 games.

12:59 p.m.


1 p.m. - Tampa Bay wins the toss and will receive the ball.

1:05 p.m. - Colts intercept Winston on second play of the game. Colts ball after 15 yard personal foul on the Colts.

1:08 p.m. - Brissett to Johnson for the touchdown! Colts on the board 7-0.


1:15 p.m. - Bucs convert on 3rd down. 1st and 10 Bucs.

1:17 p.m. - Bucs fumble on 3rd down and the Colts recover the ball.

1:20 p.m. - Colts ball mid-field. Brissett pass incomplete down the field.

1:22 p.m. - Pass complete to Doyle for a 1st down.

1:25 p.m. - Chase McLaughlin 50-yard field goal is GOOD! Colts lead 10-0.


1:32 p.m. - TB 1st and 10 at the 50 after 15-yard completion.

1:33 p.m. - 1st down Bucs after 31-yard pass completion.

1:35 p.m. - Winston with the QB keeper for the touchdown. Colts still lead 10-7. 1:41 left in the 1st.

1:40 p.m. - Colts ball. Bucs defense looking good this drive.

1:41 p.m. - Pass to Doyle incomplete. Colts go three and out. Bucs ball as we near the end of the 1st quarter.

1:43 p.m. Mike Evans with a 61-yard completion catch for the Bucs touchdown. Bucs now lead 14-10. Evans appears to be injured.

1:48 p.m. - At the end of the 1st QTR Tampa Bay leads the Colts 14-10. Colts ball to start the 2nd QTR.

1:51 p.m. - Three and out. Colts punting. Bucs defense on fire!

1:53 p.m. - Bucs 1st and 20 after a flag.

1:55 p.m. - TB short of the 1st down and will punt.

1:56 p.m. - Colts with 20-yard punt return and will start in Bucs territory.

2 p.m. - Injury Buc Mike Evans who had 61-yard TD catch is out with hamstring injury.

2:01 p.m. - Brissett runs for 1st down. Flag on Bucs but Colts decline.

2:03 p.m. - Brissett has all day to pass but the pass is incomplete in the endzone.

2:04 p.m. - 4th and inches. Colts go for it and Brissett fakes entire Bucs D-line for the 1st down.

2:05 p.m. - Marlon Mack with the carry for the touchdown. Colts back with the lead 17-14.


2:12 p.m. - TB driving in Colts territory. 2nd & 7 and the Colts 45. Colts defense with big hit on Winston.

2:15 p.m. - Bucs respond with 28-yard completion.

2:17 p.m. - Leonard with the pick six for the Colts. Leonard picks off Winston and returns it 80-yards for the TD. Colts up 24-14.

2:23 p.m. - Two mintue warning. Colts up 24-14. Bucs have possession.

2:26 p.m. - Bucs driving deep in Colt's territory. Under two-minutes to play in the first half.

2:30 p.m. - Winston under pressure completes a pass on 3rd down. 1st and goal Bucs.

2:31 p.m. - Touchdown Bucs. TB cuts the lead to 24-21. Winston with 277 yards in the 1st half.

2:34 p.m. - Brissett with the 50-yard completion. TB also called for roughing the passer. Colts on the TB 18-yard line.

2:37 p.m. - Colts nearing the goal line come up short on 4th down. Colts go for it and Brissett picks up the first. Time out Colts.

2:40 p.m. - Colts go for the field goal and the 19-yard kick is good. At the half the Colts lead 27-21.

2:55 p.m. - Colts begin the 2nd half with the ball.

2:56 p.m. - Brissett with an 18-yard completion to Doyle.

2:56 p.m. - Bucs defense with the sack on Brissett.

2:57 p.m. - Colts go three and out and will punt.

3 p.m. - Bucs change QBs to start the 2nd half. Back-up Ryan Griffin is out on the field to lead the Bucs offense.

3:03 p.m. - Winston has a right hand injury and is questionable to return. He appears to be warming up on the sideline.


3:05 p.m. -Bucs punt. Colts ball.

3:08 p.m. - TB called for late hit. Colts tack on an extra 15-yards to the end of the run.

3:11 p.m. - Brissett pass complete for 37-yards on 3rd down. Colts in the redzone. Indy flagged for a hold.

3:12 p.m. - Penalty takes the Colts out of the redzone.

3:14 p.m. - Brissett to Pascal in the corner of the endzone for the touchdown! Colts go for two and convert. Brissett to Pascal again. Colts lead 35-21.

3:18 p.m. - Winston back in as QB for Tampa Bay.

3:20 p.m. - Winston completes pass for the TB touchdown. Colts now lead 35-28 over Tampa Bay nearing the end of the 3rd.

3:26 p.m. - Colts with the ball. 4th & 1. Colts will punt.

3:30 p.m. - At the end of the 3rd QTR the Colts lead Tampa Bay 35-28. Bucs with the ball to start the 4th QTR.

3:35 p.m. - Winston completes pass for 27-yards. Impressive drive by the Bucs now deep in Colt's territory.

3:36 p.m. - Bucs 44-yard field goal is good. Colts clinging to lead 35-31.

3:41 p.m. - Pass interference on the Bucs. Colts have automatic 1st down at the Tampa Bay 25. Ends up being 55-yard penalty.

3:44 p.m. - Colts fumble. Tampa Bay ball. Hines with the fumble for the Colts.


3:48 p.m. - And just like that the Colts have the ball back after a deflected Winston pass.

3:50 p.m. - Bucs four turnovers have led to 17 Colts points so far. Time out Colts facing 3rd & 15.

3:52 p.m. - Colts don't pick up the 1st down. 47-yard FG is NO good as the ball hits the upright. Ball back to the Bucs as we get late in the 4th QTR.

3:55 p.m. - Winston continues to pick apart Colts zone coverage for a 27-yard completion.

3:58 p.m. - Ya-Sin is down for the Colts. Colts medical staff helps him off the field. He appears to be okay.

4 p.m. - Bucs stopped on 3rd-and-1. They go for it and pick up the 1st down. Bucs threatening to score and take the lead.

4:02 p.m. - Touchdown Tampa Bay. Bucs with the lead 38-35 with 3:51 to go in the game.


4:04 p.m. - Colts defensive secondary having a tough day.

4:06 p.m. - Colts with the ball and two time-outs.

4:07 p.m. - Colts ball with a 3rd & 2. Two minute warning.

4:12 p.m. - Pass incomplete to Doyle. 4th & 2. Colts fail to convert. Tampa Bay ball.

4:17 p.m. - Tampa Bay runs out the clock. Bucs win 38-35 FINAL.


4:21 p.m. - The Colts travel to New Orleans next week on Monday Night Football.
