Chicago bound plane lands in Indianapolis after dropping 10,000 feet

Indianapolis International Airport

Some very scary moments onboard a plane Sunday forced an emergency landing in Indianapolis.

That plane suddenly dropped 10,000 feet in the air. Luckily, everyone is okay after landing safely.

Airport officials said the United Airlines flight was headed from Charlotte, North Carolina to Chicago around 8:00 a.m. At some point, a pressurization problem caused it to drop 10,000 feet.

The plane was diverted here to Indy. Once they landed, passengers complained of headaches and ear problems and were checked out by medics, but no one had to be taken to the hospital.

The FAA is still trying to figure out what caused the problem.
