Celebrate the 22nd annual Indy Irish Fest starting Thursday

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — The Indy Irish Fest returns to Military Park Thursday through Sunday. Celebrate Irish heritage with family activities and no shortage of your favorite Irish foods.

The festival kicks off Thursday with a pub night preview concert at 5:30 p.m., featuring some of the bands that will perform during the festival. Admission is free, but visitors are encouraged to donate to the St. Vincent dePaul Food Bank.

There will also be a craft beer tasting Thursday night. For $25, taste craft beers for 2.5 hours and leave with a souvenir Guinness pint glass.

Beer vendors will be on-hand throughout the weekend as well.

Friday through Sunday will include Irish folk music performances from bands like JigJam, Whiskey of the Damned and the High Kings.

Take the kids to the Wee Folk Area, where they can play Celtic bean bag toss, Galway Go Fish and Sligo fish bowl toss.

The whole family will find fun in cultural activities like sheep herding, Celtic mass and Irish dancing.
