SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WTHR) β€” After days of delays, the Xfinity Series Lilly Diabetes 250 and Big Machine Vodka Brickyard 400 will take place Monday.

10:40 a.m. - The green flag has been waved and drivers have begun racing.

Justin Allgaier takes the early lead.

10:15 a.m. - The Lilly Diabetes 250 is nearly here.

9:55 a.m. - Cars are on the track getting ready for the start of the Xfinity Series Lilly Diabetes 250. Five drivers are scheduled to race in both events on the track today.

8:30 a.m. - Events at Indianapolis Motor Speedway will resume this morning. Gates open at 9 a.m., with the Lilly Diabetes 250 set to begin just after 10 a.m.


2:30 p.m. - The IMS decides to call it. The Brickyard 400 is postponed until Monday due to persistent rain. The race will start at 2 p.m. following the Lily Diabetes 250 at 10:05 a.m.

The start time was moved up an hour to 1:00 p.m. after race organizers evaluated the weather forecast.

1:30 p.m. - Rain/mist still falling at IMS.

12:40 p.m. - WTHR's Taylor Tannebaum says track dryers are still working while a light mist is falling at the Motor Speedway.

The race will not start at 1:00 p.m.

11:15 a.m. - Jet dryers are moving around the 2.5 mile oval as NASCAR legends are among the crowd.

The Drivers meeting is underway.

10:45 a.m. - Gates are open and fans are filing in.

Cars for Martin Truex, Junior and Daniel Suarez failed pre-race inspection and will start from the back of the field.

9:00 a.m. - With no opportunity to qualify, drivers were assigned starting positions based on NASCAR points.

Gates to the track open at 10:00 a.m. Fans can expect the grounds to be soggy.
