Carl's Jr. to test a CBD-infused burger on 4/20

DENVER (WTHR) — Carl's Jr. is testing out a new burger — CBD included.

The testing will be done at a Carl's Jr. — or better known as Hardee's for Hoosiers — location in Denver on April 20 only.

The burger named the Rocky Mountain High Cheeseburger Delight will sell for $4.20, CNBC reported.

It will feature two beef patties, pickled jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, waffle fries — and about 5 milligrams of hemp-derived CBD extract in the burger chain’s Santa Fe Sauce.

CBD has become legal in several states, including Indiana. Colorado was one of the first states to legalize recreational marijuana and it has become one of the state's fastest growing industries.

The burger will only be available for a limited-time offer, but if it's deemed popular with consumers, Carl's Jr. patrons could see the CBD-infused burger in stores nationwide.
