AUSTIN, Texas (WTHR) - IndyCar drivers have assembled at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, for the first testing of the season.

It’s been cold and wet, but they did get some work in.

We found tributes to the late John Andretti here.

Andretti racing is honoring him with “#Check It 4 Andretti” decal on their cars.

“It’s a very sad situation that is kind of moving us in this direction to keep the #Check it for Andretti message on all the cars,” said team member Alexander Rossi. “It’s a very important initiative John wanted to share with not only the motor racing community but really the global community. It’s something we’re going to take a lot of pride in representing, encouraging people to get their colonoscopy. As uncomfortable a situation as it is, it could save your life."

Driver Ryan Hunter-Reay said an ounce of prevention makes such a difference.

“If you check early and you check on time, you can catch these different cancers. Colon cancer is beatable if you catch it in time,” he said.
