Campaign aims to interest women in STEM

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — "She Can STEM" is aiming to encourage women to take an interest in male-dominated, white-collar careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Tech brands, such as Google, Microsoft, Verizon, and IBM, have partnered with the campaign aimed at encouraging young girls to stay in STEM.

"We know that women make up 50% of the college-educated workforce, but they are only currently holding 25% of the STEM jobs," Ad Council Chief Campaign Development Officer Michelle Hillman told NBC News.

"She Can STEM" has over 14,000 followers on Instagram and features posts of inspirational quotes, women currently in a STEM-related profession, a history lesson of women who helped pave the way, and more.
