INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Local college basketball fans are in heaven as Butler, Purdue and Notre Dame all tip-off their NCAA Tournament runs Thursday. If you couldn't score a ticket to one of the games, watching the action at a local viewing party is the next best thing.

If you're downtown and you're a Bulldog fan, Scotty's Brewhouse is the official spot to watch the big game at 1:30 p.m. The Butler Alumni Association deserves an MVP award of their own for setting up six locations in Indy to check out the Bulldogs, and a dozen more locations all across the country to watch the action.

They used social media to take the viewing party experience to a whole new level. In fact, Butler used its Facebook page to help us gather up a handful of fans to find out where they'll be watching the Bulldog game around town.

The Butler Alumni Association is very organized when it comes to their viewing parties. Check out the six official locations around Indy where you can see the Butler game:

Mo and Johnny's (Central)
5380 North College Ave.
Indianapolis, IN 46220

Rusty Bucket (North)
1130 West 86th St.
Indianapolis, IN 46260

Scotty's Brewhouse (Downtown)
1 Virginia Ave.
Indianapolis, IN 46204

Scotty's Dawghouse (Campus)
4702 Sunset Ave.
Suite 100
Indianapolis, IN 46208

Stacked Pickle (South)
172 Melody Ave.
Greenwood, IN 46142

Union Jack Pub (Broad Ripple)
924 Broad Ripple Ave.
Indianapolis, IN 46220

Of course, Butler isn't the only hometown team we'll be keeping an eye on. The Fighting Irish tip-off all of Thursday's hoop festivities when they battle Princeton at 12:15 p.m. Then at 7:27 p.m., our hard-charging Purdue Boilermakers are going to tame the Vermont Catamounts. And if you're wondering what a Catamount is, it's defined as "a medium-sized or large wild cat, especially a cougar." A Catamount gets its name by being the "Cat of the Mountain."

Knowledge is power.
