Burger King is offering a sweet deal on its signature Whopper sandwich, you just have to go to McDonald's to get it.

Wait, what?

In a promotion tied to the restaurant chain's app, Burger King is offering a Whopper for just a penny, but you have to go to - or at least very near - a McDonald's to score the deal.

Burger King created a video promoting the "Whopper Detour" offer showing drivers pulling through the McDonald's drive-thru, pestering employees with questions about the Whopper, but you don't have to go that far.

To get your one-cent burger, you'll need to download the Burger King app, then drive to McDonald's (BK says getting within 600 feet of their competitor should be close enough), order your sandwich, then drive to the nearest Burger King to pick it up.

One enterprising diner has already proposed a hack to get a full meal for about $2.

"Soooo...use the McDonald's app to get a $1 fountain soda and fries...go to BK for the .01 Whopper...BOOM! $2.01 Whopper Meal!" Doug Loosararian wrote on the Burger King Facebook page.

The offer is good through December 12.
