RALEIGH, North Carolina (WTHR) - A lifelong Buffalo Bills fan, Lee Merkel died Sunday, October 7 at home in North Carolina. His obituary makes a request of the team.

"Lee has requested six Buffalo Bills players as pall bearers so they can let him down one last time," reads the last line of the obituary.

Merkel's son told a New York TV station that his dad saw a Cleveland Browns fan's obituary five years ago and wanted to include the line.

Merkle was buried Friday wearing a Bills shirt inscribed "Just One Before I Die."
