HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation will close a portion of U.S. 52 to replace the bridge over West Little Sugar Creek near New Palestine.

The closure is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 2, 2020. The work will require U.S. 52 to close in both directions between Hancock County 600 West and 550 West.

The portion of U.S. 52 will be closed for 120 days as contractors replace the bridge.

The official detour using state-maintained roads will be I-465 to the west, U.S. 40 to the north and State Road 9 to the east. Residents living along county roads and local streets should expect extra traffic through July from drivers who do not use the official detours.
