"Brad's wife" receives job offer from Texas restaurant

AMARILLO, Texas (WTHR) - A southern Indiana woman who's unemployment has become the focus of an internet revolt has a new job offer.

One problem: The job's in Texas.

After Bradley Reid Byrd of Corydon posted on Cracker Barrel's Facebook page March 6 about his wife's termination, social media got the family's back.

Over the next three weeks, commenters flooded the restaurant's page with (sometimes quite witty) retorts about the firing of "Brad's wife," whose name is Nanette. There was even a Facebook page created to get "Justice for Brad's wife." Tweets with the hashtag "#BradsWife" were also picking up, generating several memes in support of the fired worker:

Looking to help (and seeing a brilliant marketing opportunity), a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Amarillo, Texas has reached out. The restaurant posted on the sign in front of the store, "NOW HIRING BRAD'S WIFE!"

The restaurant posted the photo to Facebook on Thursday, but as of Friday evening, there was no word if Nanette had accepted the job.

Back in Indiana, Evansville police posted they were looking for answers in the case, with a tongue-in-cheek Facebook post from a Cracker Barrel restaurant:
