MIDDLETOWN, Ind. (WTHR) - The body of a Navy corpsman is back home in Indiana.

The procession for Ryan Lohrey went through his hometown of Middletown Thursday evening, where he was met by hundreds of people paying their respects.

The 30-year-old was one of 16 servicemembers who were killed in a military plane crash earlier this month.

Lohrey's body was flown back to Indianapolis International Airport around 6 p.m. Then the procession traveled more than 60 miles to a New Castle funeral home.

The 2005 graduate of Shenandoah High School went on to serve for our country in Afghanistan and Iraq and was loved by many.

"He makes me proud of my community, even in a neighboring town, we're all one big family, everyone comes out, it is a nice show of respect for every law enforcement officer in America," said one mourner.

Lohrey will have a full military funeral on Monday at the Middletown Church of Nazarene. He is survived by a wife and two children.
