Beautiful Saturday with rain chances Sunday


It has been a quiet and cloudy start with temperatures in the low to mid 60s. The skies will slowly clear out to sunshine this afternoon with highs in the upper 70s. It will be a beautiful afternoon for the Penrod Art Fair.

This evening will be mostly clear with clouds increasing overnight. Temperatures will fall into the upper 50s.

Sunday will be cloudy and cool with highs in the low 70s.

There is a chance of widely scattered showers Sunday. Better chances to get wet will happen by the afternoon with many areas staying dry. Thunder and lightning are not expected at this time but a few showers will be possible at the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

A few lingering showers will be possible Monday morning. Clearing will continue Monday afternoon with partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s to near 80.

More heat and humidity start to push in on Tuesday with highs in the upper 80s through Thursday.

A few spotty showers will be possible Wednesday with more organized storms possible Friday.

Hurricane Dorian, still a Category 1 storm, is becoming less organized, located 145 miles northeast of Nantucket with 85 mph winds. Dorian is racing northeastward and will move toward Nova Scotia later Saturday. It will then impact Newfoundland and Labrador and eventually turn east-northeast into the far north Atlantic. Sea surface temperatures are much cooler in the mid-Atlantic, allowing the system to weakened to a post tropical system.
