SAN FRANCISCO (WTHR) – Remember Batkid who turned the city of San Francisco into Gotham City to fight crime for a day? Well, he's now 10 years old and cancer free!

Miles was 5 years old and battling leukemia when the city of San Francisco came together to grant the wish of a young boy who wanted to be Batman.

With the help of the late San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, the San Francisco Police and Fire Departments, the San Francisco Giants and countless others, San Francisco turned into Gotham on November 15, 2013.

Warner Bros. even turned Miles' story into a documentary, "Batkid Begins"!

Now, five years later, Miles is doing great. Since his crime fighting day, Miles has returned to being a typical young boy, playing little league and going to school.

After fighting his own battle with leukemia since he was a year old, Miles visits his oncologist once a year and has been in remission from leukemia for the past five years.

Since Miles’ wish, the Make A Wish Foundation has also granted over 2,000 more wishes.
