Bartholomew County school bus catches fire, students and driver escape the flames

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WTHR) — A scary situation in Bartholomew County Friday morning as a school bus caught fire.

This was near the intersection of 550 West / 550 South.

Two students and the bus driver were able to get off before the whole bus went up in flames.

"I am glad that BCSO deputies, as well as other public safety officials, arrived quickly and I am extremely happy that no one was injured", said Sheriff Matthew A. Myers.

Firefighters got the flames out quickly and deputies actually drove the two students the rest of the way to school.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
