MUNCIE, Ind. (WTHR) - Ball State University is doing what it can to help a nearby school district that's struggling financially.

The university is buying Northside Middle School from Muncie Community Schools for more than $1.2 million. But they're going to lease it right back to the district for only a dollar a year.

Ball State will give Muncie $60,000 every year to cover maintenance costs, calling it "an opportunity to be a good neighbor."
