Avon Police address concerns of high school football game incident

AVON, Ind. (WTHR) – Following concerns of a threat at Friday night's football game at Avon High School, police have issued a statement on social media assuring the public there's no need to worry.

Avon Police Department posted on Facebook after receiving several inquiries from the community about the police presence at the game.

During the game, police became involved in an incident between students. The incident involved a verbal argument between two juveniles and both parties were immediately removed from the stadium.

The incident was not physical and officers did not have to use force to defuse the situation.

Avon Police also made it clear that no weapons were involved.
