INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Indianapolis Metro Police Department is investigating after human remains were found in a creek on Memorial Day.

Authorities responded to reports of a possible body found near 2500 Villa Avenue just after 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Authorities tell Eyewitness News the suitcase was found by witnesses walking along Bean Creek.

This case is being called a death investigation at this time.

Authorities identified the remains as 56-year-old Larry Terry on Tuesday.

Terry was reported as a missing person to IMPD on March 12.

According to IMPD's missing person report, a family member told police that Terry was last seen in his bedroom. Terry's roommate had said he was asleep when he left. The family member said that it is not like Terry not to contact someone or see someone and he hadn’t.

The report stated that Terry was diabetic and on insulin and may have been in need of his medication.
