Audio clip spurs social media debate: Yanny or Laurel?

(WTHR) — First, there was The Dress. Then, there was The Jacket. Now, we have...the automated voice?

Twitter is losing it after user Cloe Feldman tweeted an audio recording of a voice, and people can't agree on whether it says "Yanny" or "Laurel."

We know, it doesn't make sense. But a lot of people have a lot of feelings about it.

The debate began on Reddit. It got to Ellen DeGeneres, who said all operations stopped at her show so everyone could listen to the clip. She hears "Laurel" by the way.

Model Chrissy Teigen was also solid in the Laurel camp.

And then she was over it altogether.

But there are plenty others who hear "Yanny" and refuse to believe there's another option.

And still others, like writer Clint Smith heard one and then the other.

Honestly, people could continue going back and forth about this for days (weeks, months?) and everyone won't agree.

Also, it's Laurel. What even is "Yanny"?
