JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio (WTHR) - An anonymous donation for a veteran is not only warming his heart, but also keeping his newborn baby warm.

U.S. Navy veteran Charlie Alexander and his wife Ashley welcomed their daughter Oaklyn into the world on Saturday in Jefferson County, Ohio. While at the hospital, an anonymous couple dropped off a red, white and blue quilt with specific instructions.

The couple asked the nurses to give it to a veteran on Veterans Day.

"When you get something like that, it's pretty overwhelming, I was definitely, very appreciative," Alexander said.

Alexander says he will cherish that day for the rest of his life and wants the couple to know how thankful he is for the beautiful, patriotic blanket.
