INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Today is the first of three "Indy Do Days."

Now through Saturday, September 29, close to 30,000 people are expected to roll up their sleeves and volunteer in the Circle City.

Now in its fifth year, "Indy Do Day" is a community day of service for Hoosiers to take ownership of their neighborhoods and take care of their neighbors.

The initiative was developed by a coalition made up of local businesses and organizations looking to inspire change within the community.

Last year, more than 23,000 residents took part to create an impact of over $1.3 million to area nonprofits.
