INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Al Unser, Jr. is a legend in the racing world, having won 34 races including two Indy 500s.

On Thursday, he told students at Hope Academy about the times his life was spinning out of control.

"Little Al" told them his biggest challenge has been alcoholism. Students can relate. They, too, are in recovery.

"It was cool to see people who have big shot jobs and that stuff, that still struggle with same things that high schoolers struggle with," said Francie.

Unser moved to Indianapolis two years ago. He lives in the Avon area, close to his mother, and works in the racing industry.
