Aerosmith celebrating 50th anniversary with Vegas residency

LAS VEGAS (WTHR) — Next year Aerosmith will be playing Vegas.

The band, whose members are celebrating 50 years together, met in Boston, Massachusetts in 1969.

The band had planned to make the Vegas residency announcement next week on the Today Show, according to WENN, but one of the members let the cat out of the bag on Sirius XM radio's The Beatles Channel.

"We're going to be doing a residency in Vegas starting next spring," Guitarist Joe Perry said. "What we want to do is something that I haven't seen before... just downsizing our live show, just playing in a smaller place. We want to do something different. We're in the middle of the production now. What we're talking about is having an experience that you wouldn't be able to see on a regular Aerosmith tour."

He said the band plans to bring some of the history back in their show.

Full details will be revealed during the band's Today appearance.
