98-pound python is second largest snake ever captured in Florida

OCHOPEE, Fla. (WTHR) – The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission captured a record-breaking python.

The largest-ever invasive python captured on Sept. 22 weighed in at 98 pounds, 10 ounces.

Not only was this a huge capture for the Python Action Team, they also reached a milestone of removing more than 900 invasive Burmese pythons from the Everglades.

This snake was the largest captured by th team, and the second longest python ever removed in the state.
