55 year prison sentence imposed in 2010 Lawrence murder

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A judge has imposed a 55-year sentence for the man convicted in a Lawrence homicide.

The shooting happened June 6, 2010 at a home in the 8800 block of Pendleton Pike.

Lawrence police had gone to the the home on a report of a disturbance just before 6 a.m. Investigators learned of a party in a driveway near Saul Hernandez Ramirez’ mobile home. A physical confrontation occurred between Hernandez Ramirez and Jonathan Parrilla before the two separated. After that incident, Hernandez Ramirez went to his residence and returned with a gun, firing multiple shots at and striking Parrilla.

Hernandez Ramirez was identified by witnesses. He fled and was found in Texas in 2018 and returned here for trial. He was convicted of murder after a two-day trial in May, 2019.
