5 killed in 6 separate shootings in central Indiana over the weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Five people were killed in six separate shootings in central Indiana over the weekend.

On Saturday around 11 a.m. on the city's northeast side, two men were shot near 38th Street and Emerson Avenue. Adrian Love Jr., 38, died, and the other was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

On Saturday around 2 p.m. on the city's near northeast side, one person was found shot at Hillside Avenue. The victim was reported in critical condition but is expected to survive.

On Saturday around 7:30 p.m. on the city's near east side, 34-year-old Richard Williams Jr. died in a shooting at North Forest Avenue. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Sunday around 10:15 a.m. in Beech Grove, 28-year-old Devon Ford was found shot in his bed and died from his injuries. Police say Ford's 16-year-old nephew has been preliminarily charged with the murder.

On Sunday just before 6 p.m. on the city's east side, 33-year-old Hanson Arnold died in a shooting near East 36th Street and North Lesley Avenue. Shortly after first responders arrived to the scene, Arnold was pronounced dead.

On Sunday around 11:30 p.m. on the city's northeast side, one person died in a shooting at Hillside Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a person dead in the street. The victim has not yet been identified.
