3 in custody after south side SWAT standoff ends

Overnight SWAT situation

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WTHR) — Three people were taken into police custody after SWAT was called in during a home shooting on Indy's south side.

It happened on Draper Street, near Troy around 12:45 a.m. on reports of a person who was shot.

Police say SWAT was called in after a woman at the home was confirmed shot. She was taken to Eskenazi with a "pretty good sized hole" in her shoulder, but is expected to be okay.

When SWAT showed up, two men surrendered. Officers eventually had to go inside the home to find a woman who was still in there after making several, loud verbal attempts that she come outside.

She gave up before anyone else was hurt.

The SWAT situation ended around 2:50 a.m.
