CINCINNATI (WTHR) — Three people are facing charges after a missing Kentucky teenager was found in the back of a U-Haul truck Sunday.

Police working on a tip found the girl in the back of the truck in Cincinnati. Investigators say she had been taken by three adults: Michael Nason, Tiffany Cheek and Carl Hickman of Corbin, Kentucky, WLWT reported.

The 16-year-old girl had been reported missing Saturday.

Police said Cheek, who is an acquaintance of the teenager, lured her from her home under false pretenses of being her guardian. The girl was locked in the back of the rental truck with Nason, where Nason allegedly raped her, according to investigators.

Nason and Cheek were returned to Kentucky, where they have been charged with unlawful transaction with a minor, custodial interference-felony, kidnapping a minor, human trafficking of a victim under 18 years of age, unlawful imprisonment in the first degree and trafficking in controlled substance in the first and third degrees, WLWT reported.

Nason is also charged with rape and is wanted for failure to pay child support. Hickman was arrested on drug charges in Cincinnati, but will face the same charges as Cheek once he is extradited back to Kentucky.

The investigation is ongoing.
