More about the Home of Distinction from Eyewitness News Reporter Matt McCutcheon:

Breast cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer deaths in Indiana, with state government statistics reporting 4,200 cases diagnosed each year.

You can help with the mission to support those women, while also getting some design ideas, by touring this year's Home of Distinction.

The home in Carmel’s Bridgewater Club development has been custom-built for a family who will move in after the tour wraps up.

Whittney Parkinson, of MAWR Design, is the mastermind behind the creation of the 11,000-square-foott modern, open-concept modern home.

The home features a mix of locally-made items, along with custom-made materials from around the world.

Some of the exotic features include an expansive master bathroom with custom shaving sink; indoor golf range; a large children’s play area; and wallpaper from Germany and Sweden.

The family, who wishes to remain anonymous, elected to put their home on the Home of Distinction tour to help breast cancer patients.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the tour's ticket sales will benefit breast care patients at IU North Hospital.
