2 people wanted for job on remote Irish island

GREAT BLASKET ISLAND, Ireland (WTHR) — If you're looking to change up your every day life for a new adventure, this may be a job for you.

There's job openings on the Great Blasket Island, off the coast of Kerry. There are two openings: one requires someone to manage accommodations while the other would run a coffee shop.

The position would need to be filled from April 1 to Oct. 1

The positions are ideally suited for a couple or friends who get along well, RTE reported.

There is no electricity, no Wi-Fi and not hot showers on the island.

"It's intense and tough but it's a very unique position," Alice Hayes told RTE. "It's back to basics - fires, candles, stoves, wildlife and nature."

It's unclear how much the chosen applicants would get paid.

Anyone who is interested can contact Hayes for more information by emailing info@greatblasketisland.net.
