2 people in critical condition after east side apartment fire

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – Two people are in the hospital and several more are out of their homes after a Saturday night fire at an east side apartment building.

Crews were called around 8:45 p.m. to the Atrium Village Apartments at 25th Street and Mitthoeffer Road.

When crews arrived they found two men outside. They were taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

Several others made it out of the burning building safely.

One woman had cut her hand on glass and was treated at the scene. She is one of six residents who were displaced by the fire, according to IFD.

Fire Investigators are still looking for a cause. They estimate damage at $50,000.
