2 held in 2018 death of 20-year-old Indianapolis man

WABASH COUNTY, Ind. (WTHR) — State police have arrested two suspects in the death of an Indianapolis man last year.

The body of 20-year-old Alexis Serrano was found last July.

Police issued warrants for two men Tuesday who they believed played a role in his murder.

Police arrested 36-year-old Jose Guadelupe Maya-Sandoval in Fort Wayne. The other suspect, 33-year-old Gerardo Ruiz-Aviles, is already in prison in New Castle on an unrelated charge.

Both men will eventually be moved to Wabash County to face murder charges.

Serrano, had last been seen in early June when he left his residence on Carrollton Avenue with an unidentified man on June 2.

His body was found by a fisherman on Department of Natural Resources property near CR 450 W and Old Slocum Trail near Wabash.
